East Coventry Township

Founded: 1844
History: Formed from part of North Coventry township. The original township for this area was Coventry which probably received its name form Samuel Nutt, one of the early settlers, who came from Coventry in Warwickshire in England. The township was later divided into East, South and North Coventry. The earliest taxables listing for this area is included below.Taxables in 1718
